Two Of The Must Have API Supplies
Share
Sup folks in this blog I will be sharing 2 of my favorite API supply that I have use and it has helped me
I will be starting off with the Tap Water Conditioner!
Some of you may not have know me, I am a hardcore aquatic and therefore being a member of a number of Facebook groups has always been me! Anyway, often I hear a lot of people suggest using Seachem Prime and I hardly hear anyone talking about API Tap Water Conditioner. If you did not know, according to my experience, they both work very similarly; they both detoxify the bad things from tap water. A list of the bad things that can be found in tap water is iron, lead, copper, chlorine or chloramine. And here's the kicker that may shock a lot of you folks! I can and have literally set up a brand-new shrimp tank using this bottle, aloe vera, and 2 or 3 sets of live plants, let the water run for a good 36–48 hours and the tank is safe and ready for the shrimp! And, of course, I add in calcium and magnesium to the fish tank. What I'm saying is I don't or have rarely to never wait for the fish tank to cycle and yet my shrimp still thrive. And that is why some people can safely do fish in cycles. If you are a budget person, I would suggest getting it from either Petco or PetSmart. The only downfall is that this product is not always on the shelves yet. For some reason, it will say it is in stock on their website. If you ever encounter a situation, I wouldn't even hesitate to ask an associate. If you struggle to find it, no worry because you can click on this link, and it will direct you to the Amazon site. https://amzn.to/4iHtPk4
My second favorite API water treatment bottle is the Quick Start
This Quick Start bottle is not mandatory, but it's useful if your ammonia ever begins to spike. Ammonia usually begins to spike between 24-72hours. If the ammonia was to spike from a fresh non-cycle tank it would usually start on day 2 or 3. The finish of cycling can take up to 5-7 weeks long. This is when Quick Start comes into play. It will "nitrify bacteria and quickly consume ammonia and nitrite". Not all cycling is as toxic as you think, some people do fish in cycling. It's always best to test your tap water. Some tap water naturally has ammonia. This bottle is super easy to find, unlike the Tap Water Conditioner. You can almost guarantee to find it on the shelves. However, say you just came home from a hard day of work and are too tired to fight through the traffic. Why not just order it from Amazon? Here is a quick link to go and make a purchase. https://amzn.to/43dIkYo
