They thrive on varied diets, including flake, frozen, and live foods. A 2:1 female-to-male ratio is recommended to manage breeding and reduce aggression, along with regular, partial water changes.

Tank Set Up Care

• Tank Size: Minimum of 10 gallons for a school of 6 or more.
• Behavior: Active, top-dwelling fish that may jump; a tight-fitting lid is essential.
• Environment: Prefer densely planted tanks with floating plants for security.
• Water Conditions: Temperature: 74-82F, pH 7-8, (kH, gH and TDS are Not Applicable). Lifespan is ideal for a 2-3 years.

Tank Mates and Compatibility 

• Suitable Tank Mates: Hardy, small fish such as endlers livebearer, small tetras, Pygmy Corydoras, and dwarf shrimp.
• Diet: Small, high-quality foods, including micro pellets, daphnia, brine shrimp, and flakes, consumed at the surface.
  
• Compatibility: Excellent in community tanks, though they might be intimidated by boisterous or large fish.
